Since January 2007, SEMSWA has provided stormwater management
services for drainage and flood control facilities within
its service areas in the City of Centennial and unincorporated
Arapahoe County. SEMSWA’s activities include:

SEMSWA is also responsible for insuring compliance with National
Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and other environmental
regulations, and strives to educate the public about stormwater
quality.

NPDES
Permit Compliance and Stormwater Quality Management
SEMSWA is responsible for compliance with various unfunded
federal environmental mandates. Failure to comply may
result in fines to the local agencies. Compliance activities

Land
Use Review and Coordination
SEMSWA Land Development staff provides input
and insures compliance with drainage regulations for new
development in the service area. SEMSWA works closely
with City of Centennial and Arapahoe County Land Use staff
as well as area development, engineering and design firms.
